I'm new to the parish? What do I do?
Whatever your situation is, we have one word for you:
Yes, WELCOME. We're so excited that you're here because Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hamden is a Catholic community striving to welcome all those we can into this family of faith. Through our prayer, our ministry, our faith formation, and everything that we do, we work to spread the message of the gospel in a way that is truly inviting and intriguing to many.
If any of that sounds good to you, we would love to have you come be a part of it, and it only takes a few steps:
A great way to begin is to simply pay us a visit! Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church is located at 2819 Whitney Avenue in Hamden, CT, and you are welcome to stop in to see us whenever you'd like. We have multiple Masses almost every day, and over the course of a weekend, we offer four different times to come and pray with us. For a full schedule of Mass Times, you can CLICK HERE, and please know that you’re invited to join us at whichever time is most convenient for you. No matter what Mass you decide to attend, you’ll find a church full of men, women, and children who are excited to worship together as one Catholic community.
If you’ve already been coming to Mass and now you're ready for more, here are some important steps you might want to take in beginning to join our parish and really becoming a part of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church community:
Learn about having your child welcomed into the Church in the beautiful Sacrament of Baptism
Sign your children up for Religious Education classes to begin their journey of faith or explore one of the many Adult Faith Formation programs being offered
Find out more about the Sacrament of Matrimony and how you can have your wedding in our church
If you want to learn more about all the exciting things happening in our parish, please take a look around our website. We have groups and events that serve both the Church and the Hamden community in many ways and would love for you to take part in whatever fits you best.
Last but not least, don't be a stranger. If you have any other questions or simply need to talk to someone about the church, your faith, or what God might be doing in your life, feel free to send us an email, give us a call, or stop by while the Parish Office is open. Our staff will gladly help you connect with someone who can best answer your questions.
